52 Lessons For Better Communication
As a psychotherapist, communication is the most common reason couples see Chad for help, so it makes sense he’d write a book with practical tips on how to help in this specific area. Following the tradition of his other books in the 52 Lessons series, this one is set up to give one lesson a week for a year (or one lesson every second for less than a minute if you’re really good at speed reading). Of course, “52 Lessons” is just a starting point since each lesson actually has multiple lessons within them. Plus, while reading you can discover your own, which means this book could be called “Potentially 1000s of Lessons,” but that would sound a bit much.
Besides the practical, to-the-point nature of these books, the best thing about them is they give you new things to think and talk about even if it’s: “This guy is so brilliant I wish I could be his friend!” After all, sometimes all a couple needs is something new to talk about, which makes this book a winner for couples struggling or in a great spot.
52 Lessons To Be A Better Person
Like his 52 Lessons for a Better Relationship, this book is designed to give one practical lesson a week over a year. (People who choose to read it faster will not be prosecuted). From his years of study, Chad would claim these are two of the best books ever written for practical advice on personal growth… but he’s clearly biased. You should read the book and see for yourself.
52 Lessons for a Better Relationship: A weekly lesson for a year (The Happy Squire Book 1)
If you want real tools for a better relationship or simply want something fun to do with your partner, this is the perfect book (but I might biased). This collection of 52 practical and to-the-point relationship lessons originally used in the author’s weekly blog, www.ChadDavid.ca, have been cleaned up, organized, and conveniently packaged in this book that gives couples weekly lessons to discuss and practice in order to grow stronger relationships. (It’s also a great gift from guys who want brownie points with their partner.) This book isn’t the answer to all of life’s problems (sorry), but it’s a good start for helping you enjoy a better overall life as you learn how to be more emotionally healthy (and hopefully reduce the workload for divorce lawyers).
A Christmas Carol 2: Be a Little More Scrooge
Chad has been obsessed with A Christmas Carol since the Muppets version blew his mind – the music is incredible! I’m sure Charles Dickens would be honored to know that his story over a hundred years later still inspired so many plays and movies. Whether he’d like this sequel… hard to say. The author of this new book will be the first to admit that it’s not written with the same skill (obviously; Dickens is a literary genius), but despite the limited writing skills acquired by the author from a twenty-first century public school education, this book continues the overall magic of the original story. There is also great wisdom shared as it teaches the lesson that’s often missed: You can give too much. Giving too much often leads to resentment, feeling taken for granted, and/or burn out. Ultimately, we all need to learn the balance of helping ourselves enough in order to be at our best for helping others. We want to help others as we help ourselves, and not to our detriment.
The Happy Squire: Christmas Stories to Encourage and Inspire
This book is a collection of the greatest Christmas stories ever published (at least by this author). With something for everyone and a lesson in every story, this book is perfect for personal enjoyment or reading aloud to groups of people trying to create a Christmas-y atmosphere. Ranging from stories about why Santa gives coal to the struggle of being the son of the Narwhal who saved Christmas to facing the pressure of making the perfect Christmas, Chad takes storytelling to the next level in this encouraging and inspiring book.
On top of this, the forward adds a unique dimension to the book as Rita Carrey shares personal Christmas stories and insights giving readers a glimpse of what it was like growing up in the Carrey household.
The Happy Squire: MORE Christmas Stories to Encourage and Inspire
Continuing the encouraging and inspiring stories of the first book (the title really does describe both books well), The Happy Squire: MORE Christmas to encourage & inspire, adds 15 more stories to this heartwarming collection. That means there are fifteen more life lessons to be learned (one in each story) and many more smiles to be had. There are even two sequels to stories from the first book that stand on their own, but carry the original stories to a new level. If you love Christmas, you will want to add reading this to your list of holiday traditions.
Emotional Sex
“I’m only on page 57… and I’m convinced that everyone NEEDS a copy of your book. I wish I had this book months ago. amazing!!” S. Watkinson
Emotional Sex: Making Good Relationships Great is not your typical relationship book. It’s written for both men and women, those in relationships and those wanting to be in one. It doesn’t give you the answer to all of your problems, but it can help guide you to discover what it is you need to do differently to make your good life great.
We’re all the authors of our own lives, but sometimes we need an editor to give us direction.
People love this book because it uses humor to keep attention and the quick breakdown of the concepts keep the reader moving through the book in order to prevent boredom and feeling stagnent. Even better, this book offers practical solutions to common problems, which are based on fourteen years of answering teenagers’ questions about how to have healthy relationships.
